2012 SCOTIABANK GROUP CHARITABLE CHALLENGE (5K & 21K)

On Sunday April 29th starting at 8:30 a.m., the Women's Y Foundation will be participating in the Scotiabank Group Charity Challenge at Parc Jean-Drapeau. This fundraising activity aims to raise funds
to help finance YWCA programs in the areas of
Literacy, Employability, Housing and Leadership.

WOMEN OF DISTINCTION LAUREATES CONFERENCE



Last February 16th, the Women’s Y Foundation and TELUS presented the 1st edition of the WOMEN OF DISTINCTION LAUREATES CONFERENCE. In its rows, six of the 2011 Women of Distinction Awards laureates coming from different fields, but confidentially connected by the same passion, that is to do "a concrete woman action for another woman ". Thank you to the guests that were there to underline these exceptional women and also to support these women who come to the YWCA Montreal to look for assistance.

The panel was moderated by Caroline Codsi and reunited the eminent recipients of the 2011 Women of Distinction Awards:

CAROLINE CODSI TALKS TO RADIO VILLE-MARIE
On Monday, January 30th, from 8:00 to 9:00 pm, the “Réussite au feminine” radio program, created and hosted by Sylvie Dubreuil, will showcase Caroline Codsi, a generous and determined women, passionate about human relations. Ms.Codsi is involved in many causes including the YWCA Montreal: “I had the desire to start an association which focused on Women and Governance because I myself felt a bit left out as I tried to get more involved …”, she stated.

ON DECEMBER 1ST, LOCAL B HAD THE YWCA IN MIND!
On December 1st, the Women’s Y Foundation raised $11 000 in cash and beauty products as part of a fundraising activity organized by local B!

In addition to giving part of this day’s profits to the Foundation, local B gave the proceeds of its beauty products drive which began last July to the participants of the YWCA programs. local B also offered our program participants 10 free makeovers as part of a draw organized by the Foundation. Finally, Caroline Néron, comedian and jewellery maker, will offer each makeover recipient a piece of jewellery from her éponyme collection.

The YWCA and the Foundation wish to thank local B team for this unforgettable day and their great generosity!

FUNDRAISING-EVENING AT ANNE-MARIE CHAGNON’S SHOWROOM
The fundraising evening that took place at Anne-Marie Chagnon’s showroom on October 27th to benefit the YWCA Montreal was a great success!

Thanks to the proceeds from the sale of jewellery as well as your participation in the draw,the Foundation raised the sum of $1,000 to support YWCA programsand services.

Congratulations to Marie-Christine Dufour, the lucky winner of the draw, who received an exclusive ensemble from the QOR collection worth $250

2011 WOMEN OF DISTINCTION AWARDS CEREMONY
Thanks to your generosity, the Women’s Y Foundation raised a record sum of $385,000 at the 18th edition of the Women of Distinction Awards Benefit Evening which took place on September 26th.

The YWCA Montreal Housing Services receive support from the EJLB Foundation
We would like to thank the EJLB Foundation for their generous contribution of
$30,000 for the YWCA Montreal Housing Services.  Thanks to their generosity, the residents of the YWCA Montreal will continue to receive guidance and support  from residence counselors dedicated to helping them get their lives back on track.

Montreal, October 7, 2010 – The Women’s Y Foundation held the 17th edition of its Women of Distinction Benefit Evening on Monday October 4th. Some 800 guests had the opportunity to pay tribute to eleven exceptional women who by their commitment, courage and determination have advanced the cause of women and society as a whole.

The Women of Distinction Benefit Evening presented by the Women’s Y Foundation raises a record sum of $311,246!

On April 18th, some forty-five people participated in the Scotiabank run at Parc Jean-Drapeau. Thanks to those who ran or walked the 5k and 21k distance, the Women’s Y Foundation raised $14,258. These funds will help finance the YWCA Montreal  literacy, employability, entrepreneurship, housing and leadership programs and services which each year help thousands of girls and women from all walks of life realize their goals and fulfill their potential.

Ms. Nicole Béland is the lucky winner of the Women's Y Foundation's contest that took place at the National Women’s Show from April 9 to 11, 2010.

Ms. Béland has won a pair of tickets to the Women of Distinction Awards Ceremony that will take place on October 4, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency.

Each year, this wonderful evening honours 11 women who have distinguished themselves in their field of expertise and contributed as well to the advancement of women.

Participants of Summer Space camp were involved in the creation of a video presentation.  Thanks to a $10,000 donation from TELUS, 60 girls will be able to attend this specialized camp which encourages the development of self esteem, critical thinking and leadership skills.
