ALPHABÉTISATION & EMPLOI : UN NOUVEAU VOLET À « PAROLES DE FEMMES »
 Le Service d’alphabétisation débute ce mois-ci un nouveau projet en lien avec l’alphabétisation et l’emploi. Ce projet de type recherche-action vise à développer un nouveau volet destiné à aider les participantes à acquérir les connaissances qui leur permettront d’être admissibles à certains programmes de formation tels que des programmes d’insertion professionnelle.

LITERACY AND EMPLOYMENT: A NEW “WORDS FOR WOMEN” INITIATIVE
This month, the Literacy Service launches a new project associated with literacy and employment. This action-research project aims to develop a new approach to help participants acquire skills which will give them access to certain training programs such as those related to employment integration.

LEGAL INFORMATION CLINIC
Did you know that the YWCA Montreal offers both men and women a legal information service for the cost of $5 per 30-minute individual session? This service is offered by appointment only, and is provided by volunteer lawyers and notaries. For more information about this service, click here

MARCHÉ ÉCO-RESPONSABLE + BAZAR FRINGUES & CIE
À l’occasion de la Journée de la terre le 22 avril dernier, les éco-stagiaires du Y des femmes, en collaboration avec la boutique Fringues & Cie, ont tenu un marché éco-responsable en même temps qu’un bazar « tout à 1 $ » au Y des femmes ! Rempli de couleurs et de matières recyclées, l’événement fut un succès au grand plaisir de toutes !

ECO-RESPONSIBLE MARKET + FRINGUES & CIE BAZAAR
On April 22nd, Earth Day 2010, the YWCA Eco-Interns in collaboration with Boutique Fringues & Cie, held an eco-responsible market along with a $1 bazaar on the main floor of the YWCA building. The event was a great success and a lot of fun with a multitude of colourful and recycled offerings!

CONCOURS SALON DE LA FEMME 2010 
Mme Nicole Béland est l’heureuse gagnante du concours de la Fondation Y des femmes ayant eu cours lors du Salon de la femme du 9 au 11 avril 2010 ! Mme Béland se mérite une paire de billets pour assister au Gala Femmes de mérite qui aura lieu le 4 octobre prochain au Hyatt Regency.
Cette magnifique soirée met à l'honneur chaque année 11 femmes s'étant démarquées dans leur domaine d'expertise et ayant contribué à l'avancement de la femme. Félicitations !

NATIONAL WOMEN’S SHOW CONTEST
Ms. Nicole Béland is the lucky winner of the Women's Y Foundation's draw that took place at the National Women’s Show from April 9 to 11, 2010! Ms. Béland has won a pair of tickets to the Women of Distinction Awards Ceremony that will take place on October 4, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency.
Each year, this wonderful evening honours 11 women who have distinguished themselves in their field of expertise and contributed as well to the advancement of women. Congratulations!

DÉFI CARITATIF: COURSE BANQUE SCOTIA
Quelque 45 personnes ont participé à la course Banque Scotia le
18 avril dernier au Parc Jean-Drapeau. Grâce aux participant(e)s du 5 km et du 21 km, la Fondation a amassé 14 258 $ qui serviront à financer les programmes et services du Y des femmes qui aident concrètement des milliers de filles et de
femmes à s'accomplir chaque année ! Merci à tous et à toutes !
SCOTIABANK CHARITABLE CHALLENGE
On April 18th, some forty-five people participated in the Scotiabank run at Parc Jean-Drapeau. Thanks to those who ran or walked the 5k and 21k distance, the Foundation raised $14,258. These funds will help finance the YWCA Montreal programs and services which each year help thousands of girls and women realize their goals and fulfill their potential. Thanks to all!

LE THÉ DU Y DES FEMMES A EU LIEU LE 7 AVRIL DERNIER
 Le Thé du Y des femmes est une activité de reconnaissance et de réseautage destinée aux lauréates et finalistes des Prix Femmes de mérite.
La conférencière de cette année et Femme de mérite 2009 était Mme Thérèse Cadrin-Petit, présidente et directrice pédagogique de l'entreprise qu'elle a fondée il y a 25 ans : Gym sur table Therèse Cadrin-Petit, posture et entraînement.

THE "THÉ DU Y DES FEMMES" TOOK PLACE ON APRIL 7TH
The “Thé du Y des femmes” is a recognition and networking event for the Women of Distinction laureates and finalists. This year’s guest speaker was Ms. Thérèse Cadrin-Petit, a 2009 Women of Distinction laureate, and president and teaching director of the business she created 25 years ago: Fitness Table Therèse Cadrin-Petit: Posture and training.
