OSE- Orientation and Services for Employment
OSE offers women who are ready to return to the workforce, a wide range of services which are adapted to their specific needs. Whether through individual orientation sessions or through employment research, the dynamic OSE team which is composed of professional guidance counselors, effectively supports the participants. This program is offered free of charge* in collaboration with Emploi-Québec.

Access to: computers, Internet, telephone, fax, photocopier, documentation about the job market and training; - Mentoring service.
Eligibility criteria:
- Employment insurance recipients;
- Employment assistance recipients;
- Without income;
- Resident of the Island of Montreal;
- Able to understand, read and write either French or English.

Private OSE (paid services)
Private OSE offers individual career counselling services given by professional guidance counsellors.
Services offered:
- Individual meetings with certified guidance counsellors;
- Career counselling;
- Psychometric testing and analysis;
- Identification of interests, skills and values;
- Exploration of professional and educational opportunities;
- Clarification of professional goals;
- Development of a plan of action;
- Job search assistance;
- Assistance in writing and editing of CVs and cover letters;
- Proven job search techniques such as calling employers and mastering the job interview.

Single Mothers program - 
A turning point program for women
A 19-week group program designed to encourage integration into the workforce. The Single Mothers program is focused on personal, social and career development.
Workshops dedicated to self-awareness, career guidance and job search techniques are given by a professional team, centred on the participants’ specific needs.
A great way to develop your network!
In addition to school and company visits and guest speakers, the participants have the opportunity to do a two to four-week internship, in a field related to their career choice.
Services offered :
- French language workshops;
- Basic computer course.
Mentoring (optional)
Participants are paired with a mentor working in their chosen field, who can provide important information on the current job market and can help them develop a network of contacts.
Peer helper (optional)
A volunteer trained in peer helping offers support, active listening, and encouragement.
Linguistic peer (optional)
Trained volunteers help participants learn a second language by way of conversation lessons.
Admission criteria:
To participate in the program:
- You must be a mother;
- Receiving employment assistance or;
- Receiving employment insurance or;
- Without income;
- Living on the Island of Montreal ;
- Available from Monday to Friday, from 9h30 AM to 3:30 PM.

This program, offered by the YWCA MONTREAL, helps women who are having difficulty entering the workforce by providing training, personaized support and paid professional experience in a real-work setting, boutique Fringues & Cie!

- Unemployed;
- Between the ages of 18 to 35;
- Without a recognized college, university or specialized diploma;
- Motivated and available to join the workforce;
- Lacking significant work experience in Quebec;
- Living in Montreal.
