- SCOTIABANK CHARITABLE CHALLENGE
On April 18th, some forty-five people participated in the Scotiabank run at Parc Jean-Drapeau. Thanks to those who ran or walked the 5k and 21k distance, the Women’s Y Foundation raised $14,258. These funds will help finance the YWCA Montreal literacy, employability, entrepreneurship, housing and leadership programs and services which each year help thousands of girls and women from all walks of life realize their goals and fulfill their potential.

- THE "THÉ DU Y DES FEMMES" TOOK PLACE ON APRIL 7TH
The “Thé du Y des femmes” is a recognition and networking event for the Women of Distinction laureates. This year’s guest speaker was Ms. Thérèse Cadrin-Petit, a 2009 Women of Distinction laureate and president and teaching director of the business she created 25 years ago: Fitness Table Therèse Cadrin-Petit:Posture and training.

- NATIONAL WOMEN’S SHOW CONTEST

Ms. Nicole Béland is the lucky winner of the Women's Y Foundation's contest that took place at the National Women’s Show from April 9 to 11, 2010.
Ms. Béland has won a pair of tickets to the Women of Distinction Awards Ceremony that will take place on October 4, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency.
Each year, this wonderful evening honours 11 women who have distinguished themselves in their field of expertise and contributed as well to the advancement of women.

- Summer Space Camp: music, sports, technology and self-confidence!
The Women’s Y Foundation receives $10,000 from the TELUS Community Board
Participants of Summer Space camp were involved in the creation of a video presentation. Thanks to a $10,000 donation from TELUS, 60 girls will be able to attend this specialized camp which encourages the development of self esteem, critical thinking and leadership skills.

- Women of Distinction Awards Ceremony 2009
The YWCA honours 11 Women of Distinction and raises $300,000
On September 21st, with some 800 guests in attendance, the YWCA Montreal held the 16th edition of the Women of Distinction Awards Ceremony celebrating 11 exceptional women. Ms. Lynn Jeanniot, senior vice president - Human Resources and Corporate Affairs - National Bank Financial Group, served as honorary president of this prestigious ceremony which paid tribute to Montreal women on remarkable journeys who by their commitment, courage and determination are advancing the cause of women, and society as a whole. Presented by Groupe St-Hubert, the evening also raised $300,000 for YWCA programs and services which include housing, literacy, leadership, employability and entrepreneurship.
The 2009 Women of Distinction are: Iris Almeida-Côté (Community Service Award), Christiane Bergevin (Business and Professions), Michèle Boisvert (Communications), Johanne Boivin (Entrepreneurship), Thérèse Cadrin Petit (Sports and Wellness), Arpi Hamalian, (Education), Marquise Lepage (Arts and Culture), Mae Jane Nam (Young Woman of Distinction), Lise Payette (Pioneer), Rima Rozen (Health and Science Award) and Louise Vandelac (Advancement of Women).

The Women’s Y Foundation is pleased to announce that Ludique, a personal Fashion Stylists company, and Sensation Mode, the organisation responsible for Montreal Fashion Week, joined forces to organise a fashion show called “Urban Armour”, benefitting the Women’s Y Residence.
