Women’s Work Integration Program

Find your professionnal path with our employment preparatory program!

Offered online and in-classroom, Women’s Work Integration Program focuses on personal, social and professional development to help you regain confidence in the future, find a job that suits you and the financial independence that goes with it.

The next cohort will begin on February 13th, 2023.

10 weeks of group workshops, classes and personal work, followed by a 9-week guided job search.

Gain back your self-confidence.

Do you need to update your knowledge after a long professional interruption? Would you like to know how to work remotely? You  might be a caregiver, a stay-at-home mom or an immigrant who has not yet had her first professional experience in Quebec. The range of situations is wide, but Women’s Work Integration Program is here to help you take ownership of your professional future.

This free program alternates personal work and group activities. It will allow you to adapt to a teamwork rhythm, to find your place in your new job sooner. 

To allow you to familiarize yourself with the computer tools necessary for your professional reintegration, the YWCA Montreal can provide you with a laptop computer. 

Activities and Workshops

  • Workshop Life Project and Action Plan towards Employment: Discover yourself and your career options; 
  • Job search methods with the support of a counsellor: CV design, interview preparation, networking techniques;
  • Basic computer training adapted to your level (Word, Excel, Internet navigation, teleworking tools);
  • French classes
  • Conferences

Women’s Work Integration Program will allow you to discover yourself and to open up to others. Take advantage of the group’ s strength to support your efforts towards your professional goals.

 

 

Mihaela Crina and Alhem, two former participants of Women’s Work Integration Program in 2019. They are now both working full time. Alhem’s journey was recognized with the Coup de coeur award at the InspirationnElle 2019 gala.

Widen your field of expertise!

You will attend conferences and have the opportunity to do a 4 to 6 week internship* or volunteer work in the field of your interest, which will provide you with recent Quebec work experience. 

*The search for an internship is the responsibility of each participant and is an integral part of their training.

Career exploration

Informational meeting with a professional in the field you are interested in. You will seek advice and relevant information about labour market information and develop your network of contacts.

Accompaniment

You will be paired with a peer-helper who will give you support and guidance, as well as linguistic assistance in learning a second language.

Resources

You may be entitled to certain compensatory allowances depending on your situation (e.g., child care, public transportation costs).

Duration and Time

  • 11 weeks of workshops – 8 weeks of guided job search
  • Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 3:30 pm

(The health of our participants and employees is our first priority. In classroom activities will be therefore subject to the Public Health’s evolving guidelines. Wearing a mask on the premises of the YWCA is mandatory).

Eligibility criteria

To participate in Women’s Work Integration Program, you must meet a number of conditions, including the following:

  • Be a resident of the island of Montreal;
  • Understand and express yourself in French or English;
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or accepted refugee;
  • Meet the eligibility criteria of the ministère du Travail, de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale.
