Important announcement regarding our family activites

Dear Families,

All of the changes brought on by the global pandemic have had an impact on the family activities offered by YWCA Montreal.

Our team has been working hard to continue offering support and resources from afar through new initiatives, including our new newsletter for families, as well as Facebook groups for parents with children ages 0-12. Chantal and Sabine, our Family Liaisons, have kept in touch with families directly and continued to keep families informed on social media. We sincerely hope these resources have been helpful to you.

As of June 30th, 2020, family activities will no longer be offered by the YWCA Montreal.

While we are sad to share this news, we want to assure you that the majority of these services and activities will continue to be offered by nearby organisations, with the help of our partners at Families Downtown.

Drop-in Daycare and Toddler Gym

Sabine will continue her role as a Family Liaison and will keep running the Drop-In Daycare, as well as the Toddler Gym which will operate out of Innovation Youth (2205 Tupper St) as soon as it is safe to do so.

2X2 After-School Program and Saturday Club

Innovation Youth will take over the after-school activities.

Parent-Child Group (0-2 years old)

While the parent-child group for families with children aged 0 to 2 will not continue this year, we encourage parents to stay in contact with one another through the Facebook discussion & support group, which will still be available and moderated by Sabine.

Spring and Summer camps

Unfortunately, the spring and summer camps will not continue at this time.

YWCA Montreal has offered family programming since 2014 and it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye. We want to thank the staff, past and present, who made these quality activities possible with their hard work and dedication. They have all done their best to listen and respond to the evolving needs of families living in the Peter-McGill neighborhood in collaboration with our partners.

We especially want to thank our current staff who are doing everything they can to ensure a smooth transition during this difficult time. We are deeply saddened to see them go.

Working with families has been a very motivating and rewarding experience. We will miss you.
