The YWCA Montreal’s board of directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Nadine Raymond as the organization’s future CEO, starting on May 17.
Currently at the head of Intégration Jeunesse du Québec, Nadine Raymond is an accomplished manager with more than 20 years’ experience in operational management, strategic planning, communications, and marketing. Throughout her career working at the heart of community organizations like the YMCAs of Québec and ÉcoRessources or with companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Rogers and the Société des Casinos du Québec, Nadine Raymond has demonstrated her ability to quickly understand strategic issues, translate them into concrete action plans, and successfully resolve complex problems. A team player boasting strong interpersonal skills, she has always been dedicated to building the potential of individuals and members of her team.
Nadine Raymond shared with us that she is approaching this challenge with pride, enthusiasm and an open mind. She added:
“I strongly believe in the power organizations have to improve our society. I’m looking forward to being part of the YWCA Montreal’s great history, to joining its team of professionals, learning from their expertise, and working with them to build a better future for all women and girls.”
In conjunction with her career, Ms. Raymond is also committed to social and feminist causes. She was Vice President of the Conseil du statut de la femme and currently sits on the board for the Foundation of Greater Montreal and for the Observatoire québécois des inégalités.
While thanking the outgoing CEO Mélanie Thivierge for her excellent work with the organization, Louise Poirier, Chair of the YWCA Montreal board of directors, also emphasized that :
“Nadine Raymond’s diverse and rich professional experience makes her the right woman to lead the YWCA Montreal through to the end of its 2023 Plan for the Future. We know that the organization will be in good hands, and we would like to extend our most heartfelt welcome.”
For 145 years, the YWCA Montreal has worked to foster long-lasting and positive change to prevent violence in the lives of women and girls, in addition to promoting equality and social and gender inclusion. The organization develops and offers innovative, relevant programs and services that respond to the evolution of social issues and to current needs. In this way, it contributes towards building a better future for women, girls and their families in a society that is egalitarian, inclusive, and non-violent.
