Parcours Justice is a service offered by YWCA Montreal that supports women navigating complex legal situations. It aims to make their experience more humane, coordinated, and accessible by strengthening collaboration among women, support workers, and legal professionals.

What is Parcours Justice?

Parcours Justice supports women in better understanding their legal situation, preparing for the steps ahead, and navigating the legal system with greater confidence and peace of mind.

The project also works with support workers and legal professionals to encourage a collaborative approach that reflects women’s lived experiences and responds more effectively to their needs.

Who is Parcours Justice for?

The project is intended for:

  • Women who are going through or considering legal proceedings
  • Support workers who assist women and wish to refer them to the service
  • Lawyers and notaries who wish to adapt their practice to better reflect women’s lived experiences

  • Facilitate access to justice
  • Help women better understand and prepare for their legal process
  • Provide compassionate and personalized support throughout their journey
  • Strengthen collaboration among women, support workers, and legal professionals
  • Equip lawyers and notaries with tools and training to develop practices that better reflect women’s realities

How Does the Support Process Work?

1. Initial Contact
    By phone, online form, or referral.

2. Assessment of the Situation
    Understanding needs, circumstances, and available resources.

3. Support Plan
    Presentation of the service, consent process, and creation of a personalized support plan.

4. Support
    ●  Legal information explained in clear and accessible language
    ●  Preparation for meetings with legal professionals
    ●  Referral to a lawyer
    ●  Court accompaniment and coordination with available resources

5. End of Support
    Based on the participant’s needs or at their request.
